It's an excellent camera for the money, which is why I bought it. I have to agree, though, that the 550D would be an excellent buy if you find one at a similar price. The screen on the 1100D doesn't have great resolution, which can be frustrating when reviewing photos on the camera. The 1100D doesn't have a rubber grip, either.
